Homeschool stuff

The wonderful page of ideas has arrived! I would spend hours every night looking at other blogs getting ideas for home-school. researching which curriculum to use and understanding how to fit in a life and home-school. the day arrived when i decided to share my home-school ideas too, feel free to take, customize and use any of them for yourself. even if you don't home-school. i encourage you to use these as after-school projects!

Curriculum 

 There is non! 

Trust me i spent plenty of time decided which one is best? like many other home school parents you feel overwhelmed with choices and decisions, which one is best for my child? what is my childs learning method? how do i decide if i should buy this one or that one?!

 I got to admit i gave up. But i will give you an overview sometime of the ones i did like and review even consider buying. maybe next year as the kids move into more complex stages of school i will buy one but for now my preschoolers are very pleased with what we call MAMI SCHOOL! the name of our home school program. With researching what my children need to learn at their current age and milestones to accomplish we personalized their needs into our schedule. Il show you our timetable.

I keep the subjects but change the topic each week sometimes month if they have not yet got it. I put names on some things such as Nicky phonics as he is younger and we learn different things with him while Joshua uses the computer for reading or something for suited for his age! Alot of the stuff we just do together though. 

Feel free to download the timetable and customize it yourself. As for the subjects i go online and we use youtube a lot for our educational vids and games. i downloaded this great little tool called zoodles

It's a bunch  educational games and videos that your child can use online but they cant leave the program unless you type quit in the X but besides that you can personalize the games they choose for age, my kids are learning to read on it! its great! 

Bible Stuff

For me this was the easiest subject to teach as it just comes from the heart, And as for everything in our home school program we dont buy anything! for worship we go on YouTube   Check out our playlist here ,, the kids love it! They sing and dance and its a great way to start the day!

As for Mondays goes, here is our list so far. For each week we will chose a different charactor from the bible starting from Adam and Eve, I dont chose everyone as some stories are for when they are older to understand, remember my eldest is in kindergarten so we dont go further than that in our schooling.

Bible Characters

Adam and Eve – God Created Adam, Eve came from the Rib bone of Adam, teach about the story of how they came to live in the Garden of even, Why God made them and for what purpose, How they betrayed God.  Watch Superbook, color in a picture of Adam (above image ) and eve and read a bible verse. Purpose – To learn that God created Adam and eve and every human for his Pleasure and Glory, that God wants to have a relationship with you and loves you very much. That you are here on this earth because of God. 

 

Cain and Able -  Cain and Abel are Adam and eve’s Sons, Cain worked the land while able was a shepherd, teach how they both made sacrifice to God but Abel was pure in his heart and truly wanted to please God, but Cain did it for the sake of doing it. Teach that God Looks at your heart when you give to others and to God. That he is pleased with those who love him, and not those that just pretend to love him. Explain about jealousy between brothers, how it was wrong to kill able. Watch the cartoons on youtube about cain and Abel, draw a picture of Cain and Abel. 

 

Noah - Noah build the ark because God flooded the world, Explain that the world was evil. The people were corrupt. God told Noah how to build the ark. And put all the animals and Noah’s family in the ark. Nobody believed Noah that it was going to rain, it had never rained on earth before. Everybody thought Noah was crazy! Watch a cartoon about Noah, draw a rainbow to show God will never flood the earth again. Do a ark craft with lollypop sticks and glue build an ark! 

 

Moses – Moses set Israel free from slavery from the Egyptians, and he wrote the ten commandments, read through the ten commandments, watch Superbook, Draw a tablet with the ten commandments on them, make manner and eat it.  

 

Abraham - Abraham was called Abram before God gave him a new name, with his wife Sarai now Sarah they were promised to have more descendants than the stars, look at the stars, can you count them? Abraham was called the father of faith because he believed God in everything. Sarai could not have children, she was barren but God did the miracle and they had a son called Isaac. 

 

David – David was a shepherd boy, he had a lot of brothers. And was the youngest, The old prophet Samuel Told David he would be king on day. Watch Superbook. David slew Goliath with a stone and a sling shot, David believed God was with him, and he didn’t need armor! David had more faith then anyone. And even though Goliath was a giant, David killed him because God was on his side!. David did become a king.  Make a sling shot like David’s, You can defeat any Giant with God too!
